How I Weave:
Option A: Video Description of My Project
In a video of no more than 5 minutes, please share responses to the following prompts:

1. How do you plan to use the Weaver Award? We’d love for you to tell us about the following:
  • The goals for your project
  • Who/what it will support
  • Why you are doing this
  • Why it’s important to your community 
2. Tell a story about your community building experience that would help others understand why relationships and connecting people is so important to your work?

3. We want to learn more about you. Share anything that speaks to why you are a great candidate for a Weaver Award.

In no more than 450 words, please use the space below to answer the following questions in as much detail as possible.

Funding is important but we know that’s not the only thing Weavers need to succeed. Please check any of the below skills, knowledge, or other resources you’d like to receive to support you in your weaving work.
Community Recommendation
One Required Community Recommendation

To be eligible for a Weaver award, you need one member from your community to complete a recommendation form on your behalf. We believe that weavers are the most trusted members of their community. The person recommending you should be able to help us understand how you gain and build the trust of the people you interact with. 

PLEASE NOTE: No additional credit will be given to applicants who have more than one community recommendation. Those completing a community recommendation form on your behalf must (a) be a current resident of Baltimore, Maryland, (b) they cannot be a relative or a family member, and (c) they cannot be someone who works for or helps to fund your proposed project.

I have reviewed the award requirements and confirm that I meet all of the criteria:
  • I am a resident of the city of Baltimore
  • I am at least 18 years old
  • My organizational budget is under $250,000
  • My project does not support a political party or policy
  • I have not worked for or received grants form M&T Bank or the Aspen Institute
If I become a recipient of the 2022 Baltimore Weaver Awards, I agree to the following: 
  • Join the Weave online communityan online space to meet weavers across the country and participate in Weave events. Within our national platform we have created a special subgroup called “Weave Baltimore” where you’ll stay connected with Baltimore weavers and have access to resources/tool to support your work. 
  • Attend Weaver Awards onboarding and photo shoot on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10am - 4pm
  • Attend Weaver Awards Celebration Event in mid-September
  • Sign a media release that allows photos and videos of me to be used in describing or promoting the Weaver Awards
  • Work with the Weave team and its public relations firm to share my story
