Weave

Weave the People: Wilkes

People from across Wilkes are building relationships and strengthening partnerships that can lead to a more prosperous community for all. With the support of Weave, we're gathering to share our stories, participate in hands-on activities to identify gifts and assets in our neighborhoods, and share food and music with friends — old and new. We'll leave with an interactive community display that will be placed in spaces across Wilkes, with the invitation to all members of our community to continue to add our stories and imagine and realize our greatest hopes for the community.

Saturday, April 22nd from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Benton Hall (300 D St, North Wilkesboro, NC)

The day will include:

  • Coffee and doughnuts to start the day, a light lunch, and a catered dinner.
  • Moderated conversation with Devin Lyall (Wilkes Recovery Revolution); Kristen Macemore (WCC and NC Tech Paths); Dr. Monique Perry-Graves (NC Teach for America), and Todd Brantley (Armstrong McGuire).
  • Small-group working session to map our community stories and create an interactive display that will guide ongoing community building together.
  • Information on the upcoming Weavers in Education Awards to recognize local work that supports children and families to create a stronger Wilkes.
  • Live music with dinner to celebrate Wilkes.
